THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE
Neuromuscular Re Education Re-establishing normal movement patterns after injury or overuse.
Postural strengthening Reversing the effects of gravity and poor positioning with awareness and balancing front to back musculature and spine strengthening.
Corrective exercises Retraining the body in alignment, with correct technique and recruitment of the proper muscles, avoiding substitution of the incorrect muscles. This is often necessary for full rehabilitation after pain is gone.
Functional Training Training the body to be strongest for activities of daily living.
- Balance Training and Proprioception Restoring the position sense of a joint in relationship to other joints and the floor after injury. Then training the joint to work in that position. Proprioception is one of three components that can affect balance. Balance training also involves equilibrium established in the inner ear and vision. All three components are considered when designing an individualized program.
